ALEXIS KOZAK
PLAYWRIGHT
I am a playwright, actor, director, and teacher based in New Jersey.
For the record, I believe in the magical healing properties of Neosporin, that the moon landing was a hoax, in fate over freewill, and that my father may have been a Russian spy. I disbelieve that Shakespeare’s plays were written by Francis Bacon and (speaking of bacon) even more strenuously disbelieve that oatmeal is good for you.
My mother was a French lit professor; my father was from a small Russian village.
The theatre has saved my life more than once.
And as Morgan Freeman’s "Azeem" says to Kevin Costner's eponymous character in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, “You have saved my life. Now I will stay with you until I have saved yours. That is my vow.”
Here you will find samplings of my theatrical work, ranging from published plays to more personal solo pieces to some of my favorite teaching projects. Please leave me a message, and let me know what you think.
