ALEXIS KOZAK
PLAYWRIGHT
I am Alexis Kozak, and this is a blurry picture of me that my wife took. I like to think that it is deep; maybe it’s not.
I am a playwright, actor, director, and teacher. For the record, I believe in the magical healing properties of Neosporin, in the power of partial italicization, that the moon landing was a hoax, in fate over freewill (that's a new belief), and that my father may have been a Russian spy. I strenuously disbelieve that Shakespeare’s plays were written by Francis Bacon and that oatmeal is good for you.
My mother was a French lit professor; my father was from a small Russian village.
The theatre has saved my life more than once.
And as Morgan Freeman’s Azeem says to Kevin Costner in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, “You have saved my life, Christian. Now I will stay with you until I have saved yours, that is my vow.”
Here you will find samplings of my theatrical work, ranging from published plays to more personal solo pieces. Please leave me a message, and let me know what you think.
